How to apply
- Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
- Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
- Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
- Apply Bonheur in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
- Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
- Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.
Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.
Frequently asked questions
A client says their gel lifted after two days. How should I handle it?
Find out where it came away first, because the location tells you why: around the cuticle usually means prep, at the tip means capping, all over means curing. The colour itself is not to blame. Bonheur wears like any other shade; a vivid fuchsia just makes a chip more obvious.
How is Bonheur different from Exotic Dance?
Exotic Dance is a neon pink with a cool purple undertone, Bonheur a fuchsia with a cool pink-purple one. Both cover fully in two coats, but Exotic Dance is a neon and is at its brightest over a light base.
Can I use Bonheur as an accent on a nude manicure?
Yes. One or two fuchsia nails against a nude make a strong contrast. Seal all ten nails with the same top coat so the shine matches.
