How to apply
- Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
- Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
- Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
- Apply Nuts in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
- Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
- Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.
Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.
Frequently asked questions
What does a gel base coat actually do?
It holds the whole manicure on the nail: the colour bonds to the base, not to the bare plate. A rubber base is thicker and elastic, so it does not crack when the nail flexes; a standard base is thinner and does little levelling. Either can go under Nuts.
How is Nuts different from Classic Nude?
Classic Nude is a semi-sheer beige nude with a warm undertone that lets the natural nail show through. Nuts is opaque and covers fully in two coats, and its yellowish undertone makes it read sandier.
Does a warm beige suit cool skin?
On cool skin a yellowish beige like Nuts can look a little flat. In that case a nude with a pink or grey lean is the better match.
