Richmond Gel Polish, 10 ml by ReformA is a crimson red with a cool undertone. A classic red with a cool edge for hands and feet.

The cool undertone keeps the crimson crisp and stops it drifting towards coral, so it reads as a crisp, cool red on the nail. It comes in a 10 ml bottle with a brush. Apply Richmond over a cured base and seal it with a top coat.

How to apply

1. Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
2. Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
3. Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
4. Apply Richmond in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
5. Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
6. Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.

Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.

Frequently asked questions

What should a technician practise to improve gel results fastest?
Thin, controlled coats and a neat cuticle line. A classic red like Richmond is the best practice shade, because it shows every flooded sidewall and uneven edge. Once your red manicures look clean, every other colour gets easier.

How is Richmond different from Harlem?
They sit on opposite sides of red. Harlem is a red with a warm brick-rust undertone, while Richmond is a crimson with a cool undertone, so Richmond reads cleaner and Harlem earthier.

Can a red like Richmond stain the natural nail?
Not when it goes over a cured base: the base sits between the nail plate and the colour. Never apply Richmond straight onto the nail plate, and remove it by filing or soaking off rather than picking, so the surface of the nail stays intact.
