How to apply

  1. Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
  2. Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
  3. Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
  4. Apply Rubino in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
  5. Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
  6. Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.

Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my second coat of colour drag the first one?
The first coat was not cured all the way through, so it is still soft enough to move. Give each coat of Rubino the full curing time for your lamp and keep it thin, because a thick dark coat is the most likely to stay soft underneath.

How is Rubino different from Red Heart?
Red Heart is a dark cherry red with a cool undertone and shimmer. Rubino leans more towards burgundy and has no particles, so it looks more restrained.

Can I dry Rubino with a hairdryer or cold water?
No. Gel polish only sets under the light of a curing lamp. A hairdryer gives heat, not light, so the product will simply spread, and cold water only helps regular polish, which dries as its solvent evaporates.

Colours on screen can look different from the real shade: monitor calibration and display settings both affect it. If you are unsure about a shade, get in touch and we will show you the actual colour.
