How to apply
- Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
- Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
- Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
- Apply Silken in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
- Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
- Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.
Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.
Frequently asked questions
What spoils a gel polish bottle?
Dust, pigment carried back on the brush, and light. Close the bottle of Silken tightly as soon as you have finished, keep it away from the desk lamp and wipe the neck so the cap seals. Base and top coats are opened most often, so they usually suffer first.
How is Silken different from Night Secret?
Night Secret is a dark plum-burgundy with a cool undertone and shimmer. Silken has no particles, and its cool undertone leans violet.
What looks does Silken suit?
Deep single-colour nails in autumn and winter, and a dark French over a light base. The plum-burgundy reads restrained rather than loud, which suits understated evening looks.
