Gel Polish - Deep Velvet, 10 ml

Deep Velvet Gel Polish, 10 ml by ReformA is a dark muted pink with a cool greyish-violet undertone and full coverage in two coats. A dark dusty pink for understated evening nails.

The greyish-violet undertone tones the pink down and gives it depth without tipping it into burgundy. It comes in a 10 ml bottle with a brush. Apply Deep Velvet over a cured base and seal it with a top coat.

How to apply

1. Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
2. Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
3. Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
4. Apply Deep Velvet in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
5. Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
6. Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.

Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.

Which nail shape works best with gel polish?
Most everyday shapes wear well, from almond to soft square and oval. Deep Velvet looks especially neat on short nails, because a muted dark shade does not create a harsh contrast with the hand. Keep the side margins even: on a dark colour they show the most.

What is the difference between Deep Velvet and Toxic Love?
Toxic Love is a muted pink with a greyish-pink undertone and is the lighter of the two. Deep Velvet is darker and has a violet element in its undertone.

Is Deep Velvet a burgundy?
No. It is a dark muted pink: the greyish-violet undertone gives it depth but stops it short of burgundy, so it reads as a deep, dusty rose rather than a wine shade.
