How to apply
- Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
- Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
- Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
- Apply Ripe Red in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
- Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
- Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.
Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.
Frequently asked questions
Does leftover cuticle really cause lifting?
Yes, it is one of the most common causes. The coating ends up on a film of tissue instead of the nail and comes away as the nail grows. On a dark shade like Ripe Red that lifted strip shows straight away, so clean the cuticle area thoroughly before the base.
How is Ripe Red different from Old Wine?
Both are dark wine shades with full coverage in two coats. Ripe Red is built on violet, Old Wine on red, so Ripe Red looks cooler and Old Wine warmer and closer to the colour of wine.
How long does a Ripe Red manicure last?
On healthy nails a ReformA coating holds for up to 3 weeks in most cases. How long it holds depends on nail preparation, application technique, the condition of the nails, lifestyle and the load on the hands.
Colours on screen can look different from the real shade: monitor calibration and display settings both affect it. If you are unsure about a shade, get in touch and we will show you the actual colour.
