How to apply
- Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
- Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
- Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
- Apply Alfa in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
- Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
- Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.
Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a matte finish that does not look patchy?
Patchy matte comes from an uneven film. Over Alfa, first level the glitter with a cured gloss top coat, then apply the matte top in one even coat and cap the free edge. A matte surface picks up oils, so wipe it with an alcohol wipe now and then.
How is Alfa different from Santa Claus?
Both are reds with a neutral undertone, but the effect is different. Alfa carries dense glitter, while Santa Claus has silver reflective flash particles that show under direct light and on camera.
Does Alfa work as an accent next to a plain red?
Yes. A solid red on most nails and Alfa on one or two gives a festive set in one colour family. Over Alfa, use two coats of top coat: the first levels the glitter, the second gives the gloss.
Colours on screen can look different from the real shade: monitor calibration and display settings both affect it. If you are unsure about a shade, get in touch and we will show you the actual colour.
