How to apply
- Prep the cuticle area with Cuticle Remover: apply a small amount to the cuticle, gently push it back with an orange stick or a pusher and lift off the pterygium.
- Prep the nail plate: degrease it with a cleanser such as Cleanser, then dehydrate it with Nail Prep. Duo Prep covers both steps in one product. Then apply Ultrabond Primer for better adhesion to the nail plate. The primer needs no curing, it air-dries.
- Apply Rubber Base or Base Coat in one thin layer and cure.
- Apply Lokum in one or two thin coats, curing each coat.
- Finish with a top coat and cure according to its instructions.
- Wait at least 60 seconds after curing the top coat before applying cuticle oil, so the top coat keeps its shine.
Gel polish curing time: 60-120 sec in an LED lamp, 30-60 sec in a 48 W dual LED lamp. Curing time depends on the power of the lamp and its LEDs, so check it separately for each product.

How do I get a perfectly smooth self-levelled surface?
Load the brush lightly, lay the coat on and give it a few seconds to flow out before it goes into the lamp. A pale shade like Lokum shows every ridge underneath, so level the nail with the base first: extra colour will not hide unevenness, it only makes the coating thicker.
How is Lokum different from Gargamel?
Lokum is a light pastel grey, Gargamel a dark graphite grey. Both have a cool undertone and cover fully in two coats, so they pair well: Lokum on most nails, Gargamel on an accent.
Can Lokum be used for geometric nail art?
Yes, that is one of its main uses. A cool, light grey with full coverage gives a calm background for lines and blocks of colour. Cure Lokum fully before you start the design, then seal it with a top coat.
