Gel Polish One Step Glaze, 10 ml by ReformA is a milky pink with a warm undertone and a dense fine shimmer. One step means base, colour and top are gathered in a single bottle: on a healthy plate Glaze goes on with no separate base and no top coat.

Glaze is the milky shade of the CLEAN GIRL collection: warmer than the lilac Glow and softer than the clean pink Quartz. The fine shimmer sits inside a milky ground, so the nail reads as glazed rather than as glittered. Two thin coats, each cured separately, a 10 ml bottle with a brush.

How to apply

1. Do the manicure with a cuticle remover: place a drop on the cuticle, push it back and take off the pterygium down to a clean, dry plate.
2. Go over the surface of the nail with a 180 grit file and remove the dust. A single-phase formula holds by mechanical adhesion, so this step is not skipped.
3. Degrease the plate with Duo Prep and stop touching the nail with your fingers from this point on.
4. Apply the first thin coat of Glaze straight onto the plate, with no base. Keep the hand in the air and do not touch the underside of the free edge with the brush. Cure.
5. Apply the second coat to the final result and cure.
6. No top coat is needed: the finishing components are already in the Glaze formula.
7. Apply cuticle oil no earlier than 30 seconds after the last coat is cured.

On healthy nails Glaze works with no base and no top coat, that is what one step technology is. If the plate is thin or bendy and the hands tend to sweat, apply an acid-free primer before the colour, and a base coat as well if you need it: on that kind of plate the mechanical adhesion of a single-phase formula may not be enough.

Curing time: 60...120 sec in an LED lamp. The time depends on the power of the lamp and on the diodes themselves, and has to be checked separately for each product.

Frequently asked questions

Does one step gel polish really need no base coat?
On a healthy plate, no: the adhesive component is already in the formula, and that is the whole point of the technology. On a thin or bendy plate, or on hands that sweat, an acid-free primer under Glaze is worth it, and a base coat as well if the plate needs levelling. A base is not forbidden here, it is simply not part of the standard scheme.

Does one step gel polish need a top coat?
No, the gloss and the finishing components are already in the bottle, and a second sealing layer is not part of the scheme. A top coat over Glaze is a deliberate choice rather than a fix: it changes the finish, a matte top being the obvious case, and it adds a protective layer on top of the colour.

Why is one step gel polish less opaque than classic colour gel?
Because part of the volume in the bottle is taken up by the components that handle adhesion and gloss, and there is simply less room left for pigment. On Glaze this is a feature rather than a fault: the milky ground is meant to let the nail bed show through, and it reaches its final look in two coats.

Does one step gel polish change shade after curing?
Slightly, and in a predictable direction: milky and pale shades read a little warmer once cured than they do in the bottle. Judge Glaze on a cured tip rather than on the bottle, especially when matching it to a French smile line.
