Gel Polish One Step Quartz, 10 ml by ReformA is a clean pink with a neutral undertone and a dense fine shimmer. One step means base, colour and top are gathered in a single bottle: on a healthy plate Quartz goes on with no separate base and no top coat.

Quartz is the only neutral shade among the four shimmer shades of CLEAN GIRL, which is why it works on a warm and on a cool hand alike, where Glow goes cool and Glaze goes warm. Two thin coats, each cured separately, a 10 ml bottle with a brush.

Specification

  • Product type: one step 3-in-1 gel polish
  • Colour: a clean pink, neutral undertone
  • Effect: a dense fine shimmer
  • Volume: 10 ml, bottle with a brush
  • Formula: TPO-free, HEMA-free and DI-HEMA-free
  • SKU: 947154
  • Manufacturer: ReformA

Use it for

  • A pink manicure with a glow that suits any undertone.
  • An accent nail inside a set of nudes.
  • Express work: two coats instead of four and one product instead of three.
  • Pedicure, where the coating has to stay thin.
  • More pink shades in the pink gel polish and light pink gel polish sections.

How to apply

  1. Do the manicure with a cuticle remover: place a drop on the cuticle, push it back and take off the pterygium down to a clean, dry plate.
  2. Go over the surface of the nail with a 180 grit file and remove the dust. A single-phase formula holds by mechanical adhesion, so this step is not skipped.
  3. Degrease the plate with Duo Prep and stop touching the nail with your fingers from this point on.
  4. Apply the first thin coat of Quartz straight onto the plate, with no base. Keep the hand in the air and do not touch the underside of the free edge with the brush. Cure.
  5. Apply the second coat to the final result and cure.
  6. No top coat is needed: the finishing components are already in the Quartz formula.
  7. Apply cuticle oil no earlier than 30 seconds after the last coat is cured.

On healthy nails Quartz works with no base and no top coat, that is what one step technology is. If the plate is thin or bendy and the hands tend to sweat, apply an acid-free primer before the colour, and a base coat as well if you need it: on that kind of plate the mechanical adhesion of a single-phase formula may not be enough.

Curing time: 60...120 sec in an LED lamp. The time depends on the power of the lamp and on the diodes themselves, and has to be checked separately for each product.

Frequently asked questions

Why does one bottle do the job of three products?
Because the adhesive component, the pigment and the finishing components are dispersed in the same film instead of sitting in three separate layers. That is also the trade-off: Quartz has no sacrificial top layer over the colour, so preparation and a sealed free edge carry more weight than they do in a three-phase system.

Can I fix a mistake in one step gel polish before curing?
Yes, and before curing is the only moment to do it. Excess at the cuticle or on the side wall is taken off with a thin brush dipped in cleanser; the coat itself is not reworked, because dragging the brush through gel that has started to level leaves a mark that stays after curing.

How do I stop one step gel polish pooling in the sidewalls?
Take less product on the brush and start the stroke a little away from the side wall rather than in it. A single-phase material is more fluid than a classic colour gel, so Quartz flows into the side walls readily, and the correction happens before the lamp, not after.

Can I do a one step manicure in 15 minutes?
The coating itself, yes: two coats and two cures is a short list. What does not compress is the preparation, and on a single-phase material that is exactly the part that decides how long the set lasts. Cutting the prep to hit a time is the most expensive saving in this technique.

The colour on screen may differ from the real shade of the product: monitor calibration and the display modes you have switched on both affect it. If you have any doubt about the shade, get in touch and we will show you the colour in person.
